One of the modern realities of the internet is that if a company like ours wants to provide good content to our readers, we have to make enough money to pay our staff.  We’re not going to scrape by on the charity of others, that’s for sure.  So, we can make money in one of two ways.  Ads, and lot’s of them, or affiliate links.

When we visit a site, the last thing we want to see are a lot of intrusive, shocking ads.  They ruin any type of value you would be getting from the site, and they end up slowing down and even crashing your browsers.  So instead of opting for that option, we’ve decided to go with the less intrusive affiliate links.

So, what is an affiliate link?  Basically we’re providing links to products, that should you buy them, we get paid a percentage of that sale.  But here’s the thing.  We don’t let that fact change our views of a product.  In fact, a lot of us hate even writing about them in the first place.  We want our readers to be educated, not taken advantage of.

So when you see an affiliate link on our site, you can support us by buying through them.  But we do want you to remember that just because we recommend it, doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s going to work for you.

If for some chance you do end up buying a product through one of those links, be sure to write down any and all contact information for that company.  We don’t maintain any type of database for those offers, and we very rarely write down their phone numbers.  So be sure to write them down for yourself.

If you’re frustrated with our decision to use affiliate links, let us know.  You can contact us here.  We’re willing to change our set-up to please our readers.

Thanks for reading, and we hope to see you back here again soon,
